How well do L’Oreal PURE-CLAY Cleansers cleanse?
For the last month I have been testing out the new L’Oreal PURE-CLAY Cleansers. I picked up two out of three of them to try. They claim to be their first clay-to-mousse daily cleanser that is powered by 3 pure clays. It is supposed to remove impurities without overdrying the skin. Each of the cleansers claims to own some individual cleansing properties. Lets go one by one.
First one I picked up is the orange one, the Exfoliate & Refine Cleanser. The claim was that this one will exfoliate, unclog, minimize and tighten pores. Skin is supposed to feel healthier and you are left with refined texture to your skin.
The second one I have is the green-ish one, Purify & Mattify Cleanser. It is supposed to contain, same as the other one, 3 pure clays and Eucaliptus, that leaves the skin clear and matte. It removes excess oil and sebum whilst clearing the skin of impurities.
The claim about not overdrying out the skin is true. You know that feeling when you wash your skin with soap and you have such an overpowering sense of tightness and your skin is stripped of any sebum and oils? Both of the cleansers left my skin feeling significantly less dry after washing. What I decided to do and I noticed that this effect strengthens if I do so, is that I leave the cleanser on as sort of a face mask for a few minutes. When I decide to do that, I use just a few drops of water and apply the product to the center of my face.
After a month I haven’t noticed any of the pore tightening effect but for a cleanser, that was hardly a realistic expectation of mine. It does a great job of cleaning even the heaviest makeup off the face. For when I need that extra cleansing power, I mix both of the cleansers and use it as one.
One thing I am not particularly fond of is the packaging. I find cleansers that have a pump a lot more practical and hygienic to use.
The 150 ml L’Oreal PURE-CLAY Cleanser retail for around 80-90 SEK (8-9€).
